Let’s talk about c.e.d. art retreat shall we, because omigosh, it. was. amazing. and there is a lot to share.

I decided to drive myself  to c.e.d. — about a nine hour drive from my house — and it was the perfect way to quiet down after the chaos of getting all the little people ready to make it without Mom for a few days. A little slice of solitude was a nice way to get centered and get ready for all the goodness to come.

Rising up through the Sierra Nevada mountains into the woods surrounding the Lake Tahoe area is when the magic really began. The morning mists in the trees made for one of the prettiest settings I have ever seen, and I was immediately enchanted with the juxtaposition of rustic materials and clean lines in the Cedar House Sport Hotel, where c.e.d. was held. The Cedar House is a gorgeous, modern facility with a sort of European flavor that somehow blends beautifully with the blue sky and evergreens that surround it.

The rooms in the Cedar House were luxurious and beautifully designed; the space where the classes were held was filled with spectacular light and an incredible show of the surroundings; the service was warm and wonderful; and the autumn air and colors were invigorating. Truly, in a thousand ways, the setting could not have been more perfect. I can’t wait to get back — and we haven’t even talked about the good stuff yet!

(You can see it, right? You’re starting to get why it took me so long to write about c.e.d., because you realize, as I do, that we’re gonna need more than just on post here…)
