post art swap, part one
I know, I know: the DIY postcard swap with iHanna is old news by now. But before March is gone I have postcards to share!
This is part one because my Monday is slipping away fast, and I need to get off the computer (as opposed to staying in this chair long enough to edit more photos).
I’ll be back tomorrow with part two. And links.
desire to inspire
Time for a few catchup posts with some of the art that’s been happening here the past few weeks…
First up, I want to show you this awesome deck of cards made for the Desire to Inspire deck swap hosted by Jessica of In Search of Dessert.
This project was a little harder to finish than I anticipated (mostly due to a family flu swap). But it was also a lot of fun and made for a nice low-key, high fun-factor project.
Most fun of all? Coming up with the sayings on the cards. I used a few from the cards included in Christine Mason Miller’s beautiful book (Love it. Definitely check that out.), but mostly I just made up little sayings as I went along.
Quiet thoughts that came from right where I am. Those words I wish someone would say to me in that moment, or on a regular Tuesday, or after one of those days.
Because, seriously, don’t we all need that? Encouraging words, a reminder from a friend, a boost, some hope and faith, a hand fighting the gremlin…
At one time or another, we all need to be reminded to keep believing.
4 Ways to Kick-off an Awesome Week
1. Take some time to make your own Little Bliss List (found via Aimee’s lists).
2. Call a friend today and make a date for lunch this week that has nothing to do with business.
3. Do something outside your physical norm for one week: Take a daily stroll, check out a yoga DVD from the library, try evening stretches or morning meditations.
4. Check your chocolate stash. Replenish it.
You can catch a peek of inkstitch artyness over at Create Mixed Media all this week, in the form of painted numbers for The Week as Art. To celebrate I made this list. Of four of course.
the shop!
Slowly adding items to my shop this week, figuring out all the quirks, dreaming up copy, and dreaming of new paintings. Please head over and take a look!

a balanced Monday
Welcome to Monday, and another week of balance.
It’s not always easy keeping it all together, keeping it all rolling along smoothly. Sometimes we’re overloaded or on rocky terrain; sometimes things are a bit precarious. Every now and then we might even lose our load and have to pick it all up and start out again.
The idea of balance, the word balance, has fallen a bit out of fashion of late. Overused and overworked, we’ve discussed poor balance so doggedly that she can’t even respond anymore.
Maybe a better word is simply, capable. It’s the IF theme this week, and when I read it I thought, Capable just means keeping it all together. Capable means you keep walking.
So, Hear, hear, Capable! We are happy to know you! And thank you for helping us keep it all in balance.
My Capable Red Wagon, one of the very first prints available in my brand new shop! Woot!
a little art
This little piece is just that: Little.
It’s only about 8 x 2 inches on recycled chipboard, and it was finished a few weeks ago during some crazy days.
I did it literally on the fly, with a swipe of glue here, a dab of paint there… and I have to say, I’m pretty with happy with how it turned out!
The lesson? Awesome art can happen even two minutes at a time.
What did you do with your two minutes today?
(You can see the entire card here.)
